NYE outfit

As well as it being New Years Eve there's also the small matter that my tiny little sister turned 18 on the same day so there were several outfits to plan.

First of all we went on a family outing to snazzy restaurant 'Gusto' which is our current favourite due to the cocktail list, pretty waitresses, live music, happy hours and millions of fairy lights. There were so many of us we had to have two sittings and ended up being there from 1pm till 6pm! So I went for this outfit:

'Topshop Geo Ottoman Tunic Dress £32'

Terrible picture quality but the gist of it is that it's  a dark green mini dress with a checked pattern and zips up at the back Link!

Being 5'7 and a bit of an apple shape with a 26" waist means a lot of dresses either ride up over my bum so i spend half the night pulling it back down or they're baggy around the waist or bust area but this one just fitted perfectly. It was a rushed buy as I was on my way to work but my skin had had an outbreak on my chest and shoulders so I needed something that was dressy but still covered me up-no easy feat I can tell you!

For the evening I was taking her to her first ever (legal) clubbing experience and needed something with a bit more pizazz but again, that covered me up a bit on top.

'Topshop Black double layer tube skirt £20 and V mesh 3/4 sleeve crop tee'

The tube skirt I also bought in teal because I knew I was going to wear it with everything like denim shirts, a bobble hat and converse and I really haven't worn much else to be honest. Link! They're incredibly soft, come in different colours (I've got my eye on the burgundy one next) and make your bum look great.

The top was sold out in two different flagship 'Topshop' stores so I had to do some hunting around in smaller stores until I found it. Link! But it went perfectly with the skirt so I knew my time had been worth it. I wore it with a 'Primark' stick on bra but you could probably get away with wearing a bra underneath especially if you're going to be in a club where bra straps won't be that visible or you've got long hair to cover them.

The nude shoes are from 'Forever 21' and were in the sale at £13! They had a big platform so they weren't too uncomfortable (they lasted four hours until the burn kicked in) and have a bow on the back of each one.

Both outfits got lots of compliments and I felt like a million (fashion) dollars!
