OOTD

Every so often I get to pick my new uniform for work. Since I started working at the store I regularly dream up amazing outfits complete with accessories, nail colours, hair styles and shoes but my empty purse, long bus journey and the horrid weather bring me back to earth. Therefore I have to pick something I'll be able to wear come rain or shine, that won't break the bank and will go with anything else in my wardrobe.

I went for these new 'Lacey Boyfriend Jeans' which were around £40. I know they don't look like much on the hanger but in actual real life they look A M A Z I N G! I love a good laid back, ripped jean and these are meant to be worn slouchy but I like a tight fit so I went for the smaller size.

I know it's only a matter of time before they start to get loose and the rips start to spread but so far, so hot.

I went for backcombed hair with half pinned up and half loose...

...and a power flick.

Then I went for this aztek print skirt which was around £32. I fell in love with it the minute it hit the shop floor and I wasn't alone, it must have beeped through the tills several times in the first half hour. I can imagine this looking great on holiday although it is pretty thick material but so far I've been wearing it with thick tights and  loafers.

I went for a french plait in the style of grumpy Kristen Stewart:

I've been trying a a lot of shimmery flicked out eyes lately because it's a good contrast to my heavy foundation. I've used my trusty 'Naked' eyeshadow palette by 'Urban Decay', using a different shimmery light base each day and lining my eyes with 'Blackout'. You can create the flick with the eyeshadow and a flat brush but if you want something more defined go for a felt tip style liquid liner. It also works really well with backcombed hair as it gives your look a vintage 60's feel which I am all for.

I've been doing 'the flick' since I was in college starting off with a liquid eyeliner with a tiny brush by 'Rimmel', then moving onto a thicker felt tip style by 'Chanel' but I still prefer the less dramatic look achieved with black eyeshadow. It really depends on your eye shape and colour as I know lots of girls look great with a bold line and a strong flick but for some reason my blue/grey almond eyes prefer soft, dark and smokey. I suggest playing around until you find the right kind of definition for you but definitely give it a try, you won't look back I promise.

And look! A hint of sunshine breaking through the clouds!
