What usually happens after one of these sessions is I start experimenting. I was dying to go out but all my friends were doing something with work friends, or uni friends or had to be up early the next day so I had to settle for a family meal out and a big fat night in. My Uncles from London and America had traveled up for the night to see us so it felt like as good a night as any to get my glad rags on.
The first experiment was with some hair extentions I'd bought before I went on holiday but had worn once as it was too hot. They look a-mazing! I rarely wear them though as they're quite high maintenance and heavy and I always worry that someones going to see the clips. I think girls can usually tell if you've got hair extentions in but guys are pretty clueless and can't tell the difference.
Old school Hollywood glamour...
Or beach waves?
They definitely give you a more glamorous, girly look and I always feel pretty smokin when I've got them in. I'd forgotten just how fab they were so I think I'll be getting these out more often!
I went casual on the eyes with a little winged eyeliner and none on the bottom line.
I used white kohl along the bottom rim and lots of mascara to make my eyes big and doey. I also used a stippling brush to get a really matte effect with the foundation.
Outfit wise I went for this 'Next' shift dress which was £28, pretty good for 'Next'! I always get loads of people asking where I get this dress from whenever I wear it which is usually only to weddings or family get togethers. It's not quite sexy enough to wear to a club and can look too grown up which is why I save it for times when I need to look more conservative.
The necklace is from 'Urban Outfitters' for around £14 I think.
I paired it with a 'H&M' denim jacket and my 'Topshop' leather bag.
Then thick black tights and my 'Alexy' boots which I'm digging out after a whole year of not being able to wear. I can't believe it was nearly this time last year that I started at 'Topshop'! How time flies!
I don't know why I've got into the habit of pulling horrid faces when I'm meant to be being serious but I hope I grow out of it soon.
It was such a nice evening and I had a massive carvery followed by rhubarb crumble and then we all went back to my grandparents and I spent a good two hours playing with my Uncles red setter Henderson.
And that's all folks!
Bella
